I’m not a cook but manage to cook food I can eat. Recently I looked up a receipt for backed chicken and cream of mushroom soup. I sort of followed it. I sliced the chicken breast in half. Rubbed butter, salt, pepper and garlic powder into the chicken pieces. Put in baking pan. I partially cooked some macaroni noodles then poured them in the pan with the chicken. I cut up and added some celery. I poured cream of mushroom over the chicken and some noodles. I then put patches of button along the sides and a couple in the middle. I backed at 375 for about 30 minutes.
What I learned, some of the noodles uncovered and at the top get very baked and are not a pleasant crunch. So if you do baking with noodles, seemingly, you need to either cover the noodles, either with something like cheese, macaroni and cheese, or potato chips for a tuna casserole or just cover the pan so the noodles don’t get over backed.
I like simple and easy dishes that are just as good as left overs. The above does that.
